Date change for September’s week day HAB ride out

David has had to change the date for next month’s ride out to Tuesday 6th September owing to other commitments and not being able to find anyone else to lead a ride on the 14th.
He’s not sure of the route yet but thought expects to go to the Crown in Askrigg again for lunch.
Meet 9.45am at Ripley car park for a 10.00am start.
This is only a temporary change so back to the second Wednesday of the month from October.
David looks forward to seeing those of you who can make it on the 6th.

Christmas Lunch Ride Out – Wednesday December 14th 2016

David Haywood has reserved a table at the Bay Horse in Great Broughton earlier this year for a Christmas Lunch. This is the place we favoured last year but unfortunately left it too late to book.

He now needs to firm up on the booking so please let him know as soon as you can if you are able to join us on December 14th (or likewise if you can’t). There may be a small deposit required but he’ll advise on that later.

As last year, we’ll organise a ‘ride in’ subject to the weather (but feel free to travel by car if you prefer!).

David looks forward to hearing from you

HAB Weekday Ride Out – Wednesday 13th July

Meet Ripley car park 9.15 for a 9.30am start.
This is a repeat of the Rosedale Abbey route we did in April – hopefully this time without the terrible weather!
Route outline:
A61 north from Ripley, turning east on minor roads through Bishop Monkton and Roecliffe to Boroughbridge then on to Tollerton and Huby before turning north through Ampleforth to Helmsley.
Coffee stop at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop Tea Rooms just out side Helmsley.
North from Helmsley on single track roads to Bransdale, looping back down the other side of the valley towards Fadmoor then on to Rosedale for lunch. This is a fabulously scenic road, especially on a good day.
The return journey heads north east to Egton Bridge, Grosmont and Sleights then south down the A169 to Pickering. From Pickering, turning right off the A169 to Kirby Misperton then minor roads again passing Ampleforth College and on to Byland Abbey for the afternoon coffee stop. Final leg goes through Coxwold, Rainton and Ripon before heading back to Ripley on the A61.
