HAB Weekday Ride Out – Wednesday 13th July

Meet Ripley car park 9.15 for a 9.30am start.
This is a repeat of the Rosedale Abbey route we did in April – hopefully this time without the terrible weather!
Route outline:
A61 north from Ripley, turning east on minor roads through Bishop Monkton and Roecliffe to Boroughbridge then on to Tollerton and Huby before turning north through Ampleforth to Helmsley.
Coffee stop at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop Tea Rooms just out side Helmsley.
North from Helmsley on single track roads to Bransdale, looping back down the other side of the valley towards Fadmoor then on to Rosedale for lunch. This is a fabulously scenic road, especially on a good day.
The return journey heads north east to Egton Bridge, Grosmont and Sleights then south down the A169 to Pickering. From Pickering, turning right off the A169 to Kirby Misperton then minor roads again passing Ampleforth College and on to Byland Abbey for the afternoon coffee stop. Final leg goes through Coxwold, Rainton and Ripon before heading back to Ripley on the A61.
Distance: 67m OUT and 81m IN
Leader: David Haywood

Slow riding workshop Sunday 29th May

A reminder to all members, observers and associates of the slow riding workshop to be held on Sunday 29th May at Knaresborough Technology Park, Manse Lane, Knaresborough HG5 8LF from 9:00 – 12:00 hrs (approx). Everyone welcome.

One alert, however, is that the cafe cannot provide its usual service for us that day as there are no staff able to help during the bank holiday weekend. Our friend Barry Halverson is making his kettle available for us to use at the HQ of his training school on the site so we will be able to serve a drink but it might be wise to bring your own snack to keep yourself going during the morning. The petrol station on Manse Lane also has a vending machine.

Regards
