Hi All,
This Sunday’s Ride-Out starts at Saint James Retail Park, Knaresborough, HG5 8PZ. Meet at 9.00am for a prompt 9.30am set off after a pre-ride briefing. Please arrive with a full fuel tank (Fuel available at ASDA Express nearby) although there will be an opportunity to fill up again later.
The first leg of the ride a heads toward Wetherby on the B6164 and crossing over onto the A168 skirting around the town. The road, under various guises, follows alongside the A1 for most of our journey to Pontefract to our morning stop at Farmer Copley’s Farm Shop and Cafe, Ravensknowle Farm, Pontefract Road, Pontefract WF7 5AF.
Off then to The Strines Inn, Mortimer Road, Bradfield Dale, Sheffield S6 6JE along some glorious rural and forest roads, open views with sweeping bends and a few alpine hairpins too. Plenty of menu choices on offer at this traditional pub.
We have done a similar ride a few times previously but this time we carry on after lunch towards Ladybower Reservoir and make a turn into the Hope Valley for a short but sweet loop thorough Winnats Pass and north via specactular roads to Glossop, Woodhead Road and Holme Moss. Onwards to Holmfirth, Denby Dale and onto the A636 north to join the M1 at junction 39. Follow the leader to end the ride at Wetherby services on the A1M or cut loose if you prefer at this point.
