Yes, I know it’s not a Wednesday, but the weather forecast for that day is definitely wet, so let’s have a ride on Thursday instead.

A trip over to Ravenscar and back through the North York Moors starting at Ripley Ice Cream and Cafe, HG3 3AY, just along from the Boar’s Head. Meet from 9.00am or earlier for coffee at the cafe. After a ride briefing at 9.15am we set off at 9.30am Please make sure you are tanked up to start or top up at the fuel stop.

The first section of the ride is an A-road romp northwards to Northallerton and further to our morning coffee stop at The Joiners Shop, Ingleby Cross DL6 3ND at the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

After coffee, a little more A172 to Stokesley but then eastwards on unclassified roads across the NYMNP for our well earned lunch stop at Ravenscar Tearooms YO130LU (A fuel stop is available before we reach Ravenscar).

Onwards after lunch through Dalby Forest and onto Thornton-le-Dale and keep it simple from then on, back on main roads to Morrison’s Boroughbridge YO51 9HS.

As it’s a last minute substitution ride a recce will take place on Tuesday so if you can’t make Thursday or fancy being the TEC then join me on that day. Same time/starting point.
