Change of Starting Point to-Dragon Road Lorry Park for our HAB Sunday 20th October Ride-Out.

Hi All,

Looking again at the roadworks near our planned start point on the roundabout next to The Curious Cow of Harrogate they don’t appear to anywhere near ready to finish for the weekend. So instead, let’s start the Ride-Out at the Dragon Road lorry park next to Asda (HG1 5PD) where you can fill your tanks anyway.

The original post is amended on the HAB website.

Same meeting time 9.30am with a 9.45am start.

Ride Leader-Bob Hill.

TEC- Andrew Pratt.

See you at Dragon Road.

HAB Sunday 20th October Ride-Out

The Ride-Out on Sunday 20th October is a gentle romp around various grades of road up to and around Hawes. Starting at the Dragon Road Lorry Park next to ASDA in Harrogate (HG5 1DE).

Meet at 9.30am for 9.45ish departure.

There is no Sat Nav route for this ride but there are three places you may wish to plot. The Town End Farm Shop in Airton (BD23 4BE) for a morning coffee stop.  Hawes for lunch and fuel (DL83RD). Ripley to finish the ride and for an ice cream (HG3 3AX).

The route between all is interesting and in some places there are the open and bendy bits you all enjoy. There are even some narrow twisty bits for those who like that sort of thing. The route is not too long at around 120 miles so no need to rush lunch at Hawes. (Fuel is available there at 70 miles).

I hope you are able to join Andrew Pratt and me on the day, with chips, ice cream and winding roads what more do you need?

Bob Hill.

HAB October 14th Monthly Monday Meeting at Bilton Cricket Club with a presentation from National Highways. 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.

This coming Monday evening Duty Manager Scott Wilson and his colleague David Grace from National Highways Traffic Officer Service are giving us a small presentation about the work they do to keep the roads running, safe for us to use and making sure our region’s roads are fit for the future. You can see more before the meeting by using these two links as I’m sure you will have a few questions for our guests.

Of course our sandwich buffet to follow.
