The original route to the Crown in Askrigg may be changed as fog is forecast for Wensleydale all day Tuesday. If no change by tomorrow morning, we’ll head east to the coast instead.

Route commences at St James Retail park, Knaresborough – meet 9.45 for 10.00am prompt start.
Route outline:
A59 – left on B6265 to Whixley, right to Aldwark Bridge (we pay no toll), Alne, Easingwold (Market Place for coffee)
Leave Easingwold to Stillington, Farlington, Sheriff Hutton, Bulmer, Welburn, A64 right for a short distance then left towards Crambe but left to Kirkham Priory, next left and through Langton to North Grimston, right on B1248 then left on B1253 to Duggleby and on to Sledmere House (nice large car park) for lunch.
Return – Retrace steps through Duggleby, North Grimston but continue on A1248 to Norton and Malton then out on B1257 to Hovingham, left to Brandsby, Crake and Easingwold.
Loo break in Easingwold if required and/or ice cream break, then back via Raskelf, Braferton and Boroughbridge.
Route finishes Morrisons Car Park in Boroughbridge.
The route as described is just under 100 miles. No one should need fuel but it’s available in Malton if necessary.

The final Sunday Ride Out for 2015 will be organised on Sunday 18th October. It will be led by Doug Masterton.
The route will be one used for a number of years at the end of the season. It will go first towards Hawes via Blubberhouses, Greenhow, Grassington and then up over the tops to Hawes for a coffee stop. We will then head towards Garsdale Head and then go over Ais Gill to Nateby where another high road will lead into Swaledale. Lunch will be at Thwaite (TBC) and then the ride home will be through Leyburn. If weather conditions turn out to be poor, appropriate adjustments will be made.
Departure will be at 9:30 am from the usual meeting point – the car park by Asda in Harrogate. Members and all associates will be very welcome.

Do not forget the slow riding workshop that has been arranged for the morning of Sunday 4th October at the Manse Lane Business Park in Knaresborough HG5 8LF. It will be the last opportunity this season to perfect those slow riding skills in a secure environment with help and cameraderie on hand to help.
The cafe will be open for the obligatory bacon sandwiches and hot drinks.
