HAB Monday 13th February Club Meeting at Bilton Cricket Club

Due to re-furbishments at Bilton Cricket Club during January, this will be our first meeting of 2023. Get there for the official start time 7.30 or earlier for a chat with your club mates.

Alan Beadle, talk on Thrills “n” Spills of Yorkshire Speedway

We have a speaker for this Monday evening, Alan Beadle will give us the lowdown on Yorkshire Speedway and in Alan’s own words:

Having been a lifelong speedway fan, Trills “n” Spills is a talk about Speedway in Yorkshire. There have been many different venues throughout the history of the sport including sections on Sheffield, Halifax, Bradford and Hull. Many famous riders and pioneers from its first appearance in 1928 through to the modern day”.

Following Alan’s presentation Bilton Cricket Club will provide a buffet for us hungry folk.

SUBS FINAL REMINDER

Dear Members,

To those of you who have already paid their 2023 HAB subs, thank you.

To those who haven’t, this is the final reminder to pay your £15 via Lloyd’s Bank, Harrogate, sort code 30-93-91, account number 01807888. I would like to remind any member who does not renew by paying their subs to both HAB and the IAM is not allowed to take part in group activities, including ride outs.

Associates who have not passed their test in 2022 do not need to pay until they have, so if passing this year, your subs will be due in 2024.

Finally, I look forward to seeing you all during our future meetings.

Thank you and best wishes,

Richard Stembrowicz

Sunday 22nd Ride Cancellation

Sorry folks, anyone planning to come on tomorrow’s ride-it’s off.

Some riders have pulled out already and I’ve been on another recce today too. It was -4 with hard frost on the side roads, iced-up slush in places and I was tiptoeing around, as if avoiding pot holes was bad enough. Haworth had snow a couple of days ago and it’s still on the ground. The forecast is -2 again tomorrow. Apologies to anyone hard-core enough to give it a go. The main roads are clear, but I’m convinced it’s not safe conditions for the ride so I’m putting it off again.

It’s a lot to ask in January but roll-on some warm clear weather!

Stay safe.

Barry
