Hi All
2019 is rapidly coming to an end, and alongside dwindling shopping time, thoughts are turning to the possibility of getting out more often on the bike in 2020.
Our new 2020 Ride Out Calendar is available to view on the HAB website alongside our remaining winter meetings at Bilton Cricket Club and, courtesy of John Blanchfield, already scheduled guest speakers.
http://www.harrogateadvancedbikes.co.uk/event-calendar/
Have a look at the available dates for our 2020 Sunday Ride-Outs. Currently you have a free choice of dates and, if you want to expand your riding experience and lead biking colleagues on the ride you prefer, give it a go this year. Full advice is available on the website, from me or from other experienced hands. For all you brave 2019 first timers please come forward again and maybe do your ride in reverse. Every 2019 ride was new in so many ways, went well, even punctures brought out the best club teamwork and the weather was with us most of the time.
If you are free during the week, Monthly 1st Wednesday Rides are also available to lead if you prefer. It doesn’t need to be complicated. A destination is all you need, a coffee stop on the way, somewhere to get lunch and a finishing point.
Summer brings longer days and an unwinding ride after a day at work, after checking your cabbages in the allotment or baby sitting the grandkids all day, and with the prospect of fish and chips at the end, an evening ride is a good way to cut your teeth leading a Ride Out for the first time. Again all you need is a destination, somewhere for some refreshments and a relaxing chat at the end. Summer evening rides usually commence on the second Monday in May and again you have a free choice of dates at this point in time.
Don’t be shy. Share your favourite route and improve your riding skills. Have a look at the Ride Out Guidelines page on the HAB website. http://www.harrogateadvancedbikes.co.uk/the-club/rideouts/
Consult with your club colleagues for freely available advice.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year

Just in case you were wondering and sorry to disappoint anyone hard enough to want a ride on New Year’s Day, but the usual Wednesday Ride Out for January won’t be taking place on the first Wednesday of the month. No doubt you all be recovering from your celebrations of the night before on the 1st so the Wednesday ride will take place on 8th instead.
David or John will be organising the ride and details will follow soon.
Best wishes for Christmas and a Happy New Year.
