Roy’s “Not The HAB Spring Scotland Trip”

Okay, I sadly missed getting on May’s HAB Scotland Trip, so I’m organising one myself and if any other club members wish to look at joining me they would be most welcome. The trip is to “Dark Sky Town” Moffat, in Dumfries and Galloway. Travelling out Tuesday May 7th and returning Thursday May 9th.

  • Travel up to Moffat on Tuesday 7th May via the more scenic route @ 190 miles (Approx 5 hrs). Arriving at The Black Bull Inn.
  • Staying at the Black Bull Inn on nights of 7th & 8th May travelling back on the 9th May – (Cost for a double superior room £210).
  • Wednesday 8th May doing the “Three Passes Tour Route” as detailed in “Ride” magazine @ (126 miles Approx 4 hrs) and if time & weather permits, the “Buccleuch Loop” an additional 44 miles (2hrs).
  • Thursday 9th May travel back home via Selkirk, Melrose, Jedburgh, Darlington & Knaresborough, (181miles – approx 4.5 hrs).
  • If you are wishing to join you will need to make your own hotel booking. If no rooms are available at the Black Bull Inn (tel 01683 221150], there are numerous other hotels in Moffat.
  • PS:  This is not an IAM advanced rider group tour thus all travel under their own cover.
