Scottish 6 Day Trial

I am planning my annual camping trip to the Scottish 6 day Trial, leaving home Saturday 29th April to Wednesday 3rd May. It’s about 1000 miles in total including the ride to Fort William & back, along with a trip round the Ardnamurchan peninsula and possibly ride to Oban. We will spend some time watching the trial at various stages in the surrounding area.

Great roads and scenery. Weather can be unpredictable (sunburn to frost). I will be staying at a nice camp site on the banks of Loch Leven. It’s not an expensive trip but good fun. I am happy to take up to another 4 people with me please get in touch if you fancy it. 07 720 29 40 31.

Sunday 22nd Ride Cancellation

Sorry folks, anyone planning to come on tomorrow’s ride-it’s off.

Some riders have pulled out already and I’ve been on another recce today too. It was -4 with hard frost on the side roads, iced-up slush in places and I was tiptoeing around, as if avoiding pot holes was bad enough. Haworth had snow a couple of days ago and it’s still on the ground. The forecast is -2 again tomorrow. Apologies to anyone hard-core enough to give it a go. The main roads are clear, but I’m convinced it’s not safe conditions for the ride so I’m putting it off again.

It’s a lot to ask in January but roll-on some warm clear weather!

Stay safe.

Barry
