9.00 am lorry park next to ASDA Dragon Road for prompt 9.30 set off with full tanks (fuel station at Asda).

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Best regards

Postponement of Sunday’s Ride to 22nd July

Hi All,

This is a little late so apologies.

‘In view of the Football World Cup Final being this Sunday 15th July with vast numbers likely to want to watch it live it has been decided to postpone this Sundays ride until next week i.e. Sunday 22nd July.

This decision was made Monday at the ride out on Monday in anticipation that England would progress to the final however we feel there are still a large number of members who will want to watch the final.

Sunday Ride Out reminder

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder about tomorrows ride.  Usual meeting point at the lorry park next to Asda on Dragon road in Harrogate.  9.00am meet for 9.30 prompt set off with a full tank of fuel.

This could be called “The Four Counties Ride” as we ride from North Yorkshire into West and South Yorkshire and on to Derbyshire.   Morning break at The Fox & Hounds, Newmillerdam WF2 6QQ, lunch at the Strines Inn overlooking the reservoir, S6 6JE and an afternoon stop at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton, WF4 4 JX.

Mileage is 161 including the trip back to Wetherby services and there are plenty of opportunities for fuel stops.

It’s a very varied ride with town sections and open moorland with plenty of good views.  Roy Beniston is doing the honours as “tail end Charlie”.

If anyone wants a track file for their satnav get back to me at barrya.ring@gmail.com and I will email it to you.

Looking forward to seeing as many as possible tomorrow.

All the best.

Barry

HAB June Ride-Out Sunday 24th

Hi All,

Apologies for the short notice. The HAB Ride-out planned for the usual third Sunday of the month (17th June), as it falls on Fathers Day and so that it is not too close to the Wednesday ride-out of this week, has been postponed until the following Sunday 24th.

Sorry to disappoint anyone who can’t make the 24th.

West Yorks and Peaks Sunday 24th June.

Ride leader Barry Ring

With lots of unfamiliar roads, the planned ride is straight down the old A1 from Wetherby, cross country from Pontefract, then south into Derbyshire and along Snake Pass, back up to Glossop, up Holme Moss, through Holmfirth and stopping at The West Yorkshire Sculpture Park for afternoon tea.  The ride can end there, but if anyone wants to follow back to Wetherby Moto services I will happily lead the way.

Morning stop is The Fox & Hounds at Newmillerdam WF2 6QQ.

Lunch stop is at The Strines Inn, Bradfield Dale S6 6JE.

Time permitting, the plan is to finish at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park WF4 4JX, however I will lead the final leg up the M1 and do a final stop at Wetherby Moto services on the A1.

It’s a decent ride, the mileage is about 161, including the optional last leg to the Wetherby services. There are plenty of opportunities for fuel top-ups, please let the ride leader know.

Looking forward to seeing as many as possible at the usual meeting point, Sunday 24th June, Dragon Road lorry park next to Asda from 9.00 am for 9.30 am set-off with a full fuel tank.

Best regards

Barry
